The North Carolina Music Educators Association featured To Feel the Winds of Heaven on their website for Music in our Schools Month. The piece was one of seven pieces commissioned by the North Carolina Concert Band Music Consortium, spearheaded by Danny Green and the Wachovia Winds Youth Wind Ensemble.
Brittany J. Green’s Rencontres for Orchestra, which was recorded as a part of the 2023 Earshot Orchestra Readings as one of eight inaugural works Earshot Publishing will publish in 2024 in collaboration with Boosey & Hawkes.
Fayetteville Technical Community College is pleased to welcome North Carolina-based composer, creator and educator Brittany J. Green for a series of public events at the College Feb. 20-29. Green’s visit is part of the FTCC Music Department’s Guest Artist Concert Series.
The League of American Orchestras will commission six composers — Brittany J. Green, Moni (Jasmine) Guo, Karena Ingram, Chelsea Komschlies, Marina López, and Meilina Tsui — to write works for six lead orchestras. An additional twenty-four additional orchestras will be selected to join the consortium.
The Tactus Ensemble will perform Intersections in Greenfield Hall at the Manhattan School of Music on Monday, November 6th at 7:30pm. The concert is free and open to the public with an RSVP.
bluedream will be performed at the 2023 Third Practice Electroacoustic Music Festival by pianist Wei-Han Wu. The festival will take place November 17-18 and will be hosted by the Department of Music and the Modlin Center for the Arts at the University of Richmond.
Brittany J. Green’s Thread and Pull will be performed on The International Contemporary Ensemble’s Composing While Black, Volume 1 concert. The concert will take place at the Kaufman Music Center in New York City on Wednesday, November 1 at 7:30pm. Green’s work will be presented alongside a new work by MacArthur “Genuis Grant” reciepent and Rome Prize winner Courtney Bryan, Wendell Logan’s Rungate, Rungate, and a new work by Adegoke Steve Colson. Tickets are $30.
Brittany J. Green has been selected alongside Baldwin Giang and Oswald Huỳnh for the 2024-2025 Louisville Orchestra Creators Corp.
Alarm Will Sound has selected Brittany J. Green and Nnux (Ana E. López) as the 2023-2024 recipients of the Matt Marks Impact Fund.
Green selected as a participant for the 2023 American Composers Orchestra (ACO) Earshot Readings. ACO’s EarShot Readings will be conducted by Tito Muñoz. The orchestra will read Rencontres for Orchestra. Participants will receive mentorship from composers Derek Bermel, Mary Kouyoumdjian and Daniel Bernard Roumain.
